At the ground level, business rules define a set of conditional logic that governs how data is interpreted and acted upon in the order-to-cash process. Conditional logic can reflect the terms and time-out of market promotions, as well as customer incentives and exceptions that dictate accurate rate and price structures at a given moment in time. The underlying challenge is that conditional logic expresses the many business decisions made every day, rendering it prolific, fluid, and hard to analyze.
We designed our Lavastorm Data Analytic Platform to capture, model, and analyze conditional logic independent of data volume. This serves two important needs: the need to analyze and control today’s environment, and the need to launch or extend market actions without degrading order-to-cash. We focus on delivering this value to providers in the communications, media, and utilities industries, which are struggling to cope with the increased data volume and conditional logic resulting from new initiatives (depicted below).
